Linking vehicles to clients
Every vehicle can belong to one or more clients. Here’s how to wire that up.
Why it matters
Linking vehicles to clients lets Vehium:
- Show the client’s full service history across all their cars.
- Show the vehicle’s owner(s) on its detail page and on every invoice.
- Sync the vehicle to the Vehium customer app, so the vehicle owner can see their car.
Link an existing vehicle
- Open the client’s detail page.
- Scroll to the Vehicles section.
- Click + Link vehicle.
- Search the picker by license plate, VIN, or make/model.
- Select the vehicle — it’s linked immediately.
Create a new vehicle inline
- In the same + Link vehicle picker, click Create new vehicle.
- The standard add-vehicle form opens, with this client already selected as owner.
- Fill in the details and save. The new vehicle is linked automatically.
Multiple owners
A vehicle can be linked to multiple clients — useful for family-owned cars or shared fleet vehicles. On the vehicle detail page, the Owners section lists every linked client. Add or remove owners from either side (client page or vehicle page).
Unlinking
Click the Unlink icon next to the vehicle on the client’s detail page. This removes the ownership link only — the vehicle record, its service history, and any invoices are preserved.
If a vehicle changes hands, unlink the old owner and link the new one. Past services stay with the vehicle, so the new owner can still see a complete history (which is how Vehium’s service-log PDF export works).
